Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience with sign language, auditory/oral techniques, or total communication methods
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to adapt curriculum for various learning styles and communication needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and related service providers
  • Passion for fostering self-advocacy and independence among students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, both in individual and group settings
  • Assess student needs, monitor progress, and adjust instructional plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive practices and classroom modifications
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals
  • Provide guidance and training for staff and families to optimize student support
  • Use data-driven strategies to support student engagement and achievement
