DHH Teacher | Endicott, New York

This full-time contract opportunity is based onsite, serving a dynamic caseload with details to be provided soon. The role spans the 2026-2027 school year, from early September through early June. Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (TDHH).
• Previous experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably within a school setting.
• Proficient in various modes of communication appropriate for students, including American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, and visual supports.
• Strong ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Excellent collaboration skills for working with families, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff.
• Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, using evidence-based strategies and accommodations.
• Assess student progress, adjusting approaches as needed to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
• Serve as an advocate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, supporting their participation across all school activities.
• Engage in ongoing communication with families and relevant staff to monitor and discuss student progress.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and required documentation related to student goals and achievements.
