This full-time, contract position offers you the chance to work closely with a high school student, making a significant difference in their academic and personal growth. The schedule follows a Monday through Friday routine from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST, allowing you to enjoy afternoons off and maintain work-life balance. This role is based on-site and will start on August 4, 2026.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or relevant area
  • Experience supporting high school-aged students with hearing differences
  • Proficiency with different communication modalities such as ASL, lip reading, and assistive technology
  • Strong ability to develop individual education plans (IEPs) tailored for DHH students
  • Collaborative mindset for working with school staff, families, and related service providers
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills
  • Adaptability and commitment to supporting diverse learning needs in an in-person setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support to one high school student with hearing loss
  • Assess student progress, maintaining thorough documentation and adapting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
  • Provide guidance to students, staff, and families regarding best practices for communication and learning
  • Contribute to meetings, case conferences, and the ongoing development of effective educational plans
