Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing specialized support as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This full-time, in-person contract opportunity involves working directly with one high school student for the 2026-27 school year, Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST. The role begins August 4, 2026, and requires dedication, expertise, and a passion for fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or relevant state licensure
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong knowledge of current instructional strategies for accessibility and communication
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language or other communication methods used by deaf/hard of hearing students
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, families, and specialists
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of one high school student
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals in coordination with the student’s support team
  • Use appropriate assistive technology and resources to maximize student engagement and access
  • Foster self-advocacy, independence, and confidence within the learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and required documentation
  • Provide guidance to general education teachers on implementing accommodations and modifications
