DHH Teacher | Estill Springs, Tennessee

Make a meaningful impact by supporting the educational journey of a high school student as a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher. This full-time, in-person role is designed for educators passionate about fostering a supportive learning environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The contract position covers the entire 2026-2027 academic year, with a start date of August 4, 2026. Operating Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST, you’ll focus on providing tailored, one-on-one instruction, making a significant difference in a student’s daily life.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience or specialized training in working with high school-aged students with hearing differences
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with various communication modalities
• Strong advocacy, collaboration, and communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to differentiated instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to cultivate an inclusive, engaging learning atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans aligned to student goals
• Deliver engaging academic instruction utilizing visual and auditory strategies
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and assessments
• Serve as a liaison and advocate for students’ needs within the school environment
• Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular feedback to families
• Support social, emotional, and academic growth through evidence-based practices
