Make a meaningful difference in a student’s educational journey as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This rewarding full-time, contract position is tailored for passionate educators skilled in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing at the high school level. Work one-on-one with a dedicated student in an in-person setting, creating a positive impact every school day.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:45 PM CST
  • Full school year (August 4, 2026, start date)

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, particularly at the high school level
  • Proficiency in sign language and accessible communication methods
  • Strong ability to foster inclusion and advocate for students’ individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent collaboration skills with staff, families, and outside professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized, direct instruction to a high school student in accordance with their IEP goals
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes communication and independent learning
  • Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers and support teams to ensure access to the general education curriculum
  • Offer guidance and resources to colleagues and families to enhance student success
  • Adapt instructional materials and strategies to suit the unique needs of the student
