Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or related field
• Valid state certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working in school-based settings preferred
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEPs
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet students’ unique communication and learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Foster a respectful, affirming classroom culture that encourages self-advocacy and academic achievement
• Stay current on best practices and innovations in Deaf Education
