Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Everett, WA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (state credentials required)
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities used by students with hearing loss
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for partnering with families, teachers, and support staff
• Commitment to supporting individualized education plans (IEPs) and student growth

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students with varying degrees of hearing loss
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to ensure accessible learning experiences
• Offer consultative services and training to staff regarding best practices in Deaf education
• Encourage student self-advocacy and foster independence within the educational setting
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
