  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Experience in educational settings supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss
  • Strong skills in individualized lesson planning and collaboration with general education teachers
  • Proficiency with auditory/oral, total communication, or ASL methodologies
  • Ability to create accessible learning environments and adapt curriculum materials
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Conducting assessments and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborating closely with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Advocating for student needs and promoting an inclusive, accessible educational experience
  • Consulting on the integration of assistive technology and accommodations
  • Offering resources and training to staff and families as needed
