Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings
  • Familiarity with assistive listening devices, FM systems, and American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Passion for advocacy and commitment to student success

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure accommodations are provided and IEP goals are met
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Offer guidance and resources to colleagues and families to foster an inclusive learning environment
