Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Fishers, IN

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing dedicated support as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity is located near Fishers, IN, and is suited for professionals who are passionate about empowering students with hearing differences to succeed academically and socially.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with school staff, students, and families to deliver specialized educational services. You’ll play a critical part in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology and communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt instruction to various learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and modify lesson plans to meet individual student objectives
• Assess students’ progress and regularly update IEP documentation
• Offer consultative services to general education teachers and staff regarding accommodations and best practices
• Communicate effectively with students’ families to support learning at home and in the community
