Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Forsyth, Georgia

Qualifications/Experience:

• State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with students with varied degrees of hearing loss
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and assistive technologies for DHH students
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to access learning for DHH students
• Provide direct instruction in both individual and small group settings, using a variety of communication methods
• Support general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are delivered effectively
• Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adjust strategies accordingly
• Act as an advocate for students, promoting awareness and understanding within the school community
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings
