Desired Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
• Experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with hearing loss
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to ensure access and engagement for diverse learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and educational teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both in individual and group settings
• Develop tailored lesson plans that address the specific educational and communication needs of each student
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and school staff to support students’ learning and inclusion
• Conduct assessments to monitor students' progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Offer guidance to families and educators on assistive technology and classroom adaptations
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student independence and confidence
