Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a supportive learning environment for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with other educational professionals to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust IEP goals as needed
  • Engage students through interactive and developmentally appropriate activities
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
