Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students
• Experience working in educational settings with DHH children
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Passion for advocacy and student-centered guidance

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to adapt curriculum and integrate best practices
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to address academic, language, and social-emotional goals
• Offer guidance and training to faculty and families on communication strategies and assistive technology
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school protocols
• Advocate for accommodations and resources that foster accessibility and inclusion
• Remain current on educational trends and evidence-based practices in DHH education
