Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for Indiana licensure)
• Strong understanding of auditory and language development principles
• Experience using a variety of communication modalities (ASL, oral, total communication)
• Effective collaboration skills with teachers, related service providers, and families
• Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive classroom environments
• Previous school-based experience preferred but not required

Position Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with best practices for deaf/hard of hearing students
• Provide direct instruction in language, literacy, and communication tailored to diverse student needs
• Collaborate with general educators to ensure access to curriculum and accommodations
• Consult with families and staff to promote understanding and advocacy for students’ needs
• Support the adaptation and use of assistive listening and communication technology in the learning environment
• Maintain student records and progress documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements
