Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing required
- Previous experience supporting students with hearing loss in educational settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of assistive listening devices, classroom accommodations, and best practices in deaf education
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general and special education staff, students, and families
- Proficient in American Sign Language and/or other communication methods
- Strong organizational, advocacy, and communication abilities
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams to support inclusive classroom experiences
- Assist in adapting curriculum materials and facilitating communication access
- Conduct ongoing assessments and use data to inform instruction and student goals
- Serve as a resource and advocate for staff, students, and families regarding hearing loss and programming
