This contract opportunity offers an in-person role for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, working itinerantly across multiple school sites in the area. You’ll collaborate closely with both students and school staff, filling a vital position that requires both expertise and adaptability.
The position runs from August 10, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a consistent, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week onsite.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification or licensure in California
- Direct experience working in schools within California settings
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and caseloads efficiently
- Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between different campuses
- Familiarity with in-person instructional strategies for DHH students
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Serve as an itinerant teacher, traveling between multiple school locations to meet student needs
- Develop and implement IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Provide consultation, resources, and advocacy in alignment with students’ educational plans
- Maintain clear records and timely documentation
