Your expertise will empower students to achieve their fullest potential, helping shape accessible, inclusive classroom environments. You will utilize your specialized training to foster communication skills, support academic goals, and collaborate closely with general education staff to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and intervention aligned with IEP goals for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Utilize appropriate instructional strategies, technology, and resources for students with hearing loss
- Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and document student outcomes in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support professionals to create inclusive learning environments
- Advocate for student access, accommodations, and engagement within school activities
- Participate in IEP meetings, continuous professional development, and school-based initiatives
Desired Qualifications:
- Possess an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable teaching onsite; this is not a remote or hybrid position
This contract opportunity features a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week through the school year.
