Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a highly collaborative school setting. In this contract role, you’ll utilize your expertise to foster communication skills and promote an inclusive learning environment. Work closely with educators, students, and families to ensure each learner receives the tailored support they need to succeed.

Qualifications/Experience Sought:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience working with school-aged children in a classroom or resource setting
  • Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and/or sign language methodologies
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
  • Ability to design and adapt instructional material to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Understanding of assistive technology and hearing devices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and consultation services for students with hearing needs
  • Assess student abilities and develop individualized goals in alignment with IEPs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to create accessible and engaging lessons
  • Offer guidance and resources to families and school staff regarding hearing loss and accommodations
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
  • Deliver training and support regarding auditory devices and communication strategies

Compensation for this position ranges from $37.71 to $57.71. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
