DHH Teacher | Fremont, California

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state requirements apply)
• Previous school-based experience preferred, but outstanding new graduates are welcome to apply
• Strong understanding of various communication methods (ASL, oral/auditory, or total communication)
• Ability to adapt instructional materials and approaches to fit individual student needs
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to ongoing professional development

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that support each student’s learning goals
• Advocate for appropriate accommodations and modifications in the educational setting
• Support general and special education teachers by providing strategies and resources
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting to families and staff
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom and school culture
