This opportunity is for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support students in a school setting in Fremont, CA. This is a contract position designed to provide specialized educational services to students with hearing impairments, fostering their academic, social, and communication development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering tailored instructional strategies to students with hearing loss
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, speech therapists, and families to create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching methods as needed
  • Utilizing assistive listening devices and technology to enhance learning
  • Facilitating communication skills development including sign language and auditory training

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant teaching credential or certification for Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with students who have hearing impairments
  • Strong knowledge of language development and communication strategies for Deaf / Hard of Hearing learners
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
