Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the upcoming academic year. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide vital DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) services across five campuses, empowering students through tailored educational interventions and advocacy. With both virtual and onsite modalities, you can engage in dynamic collaboration with educators and families to ensure student success.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • State teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility for endorsement
  • Experience supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss in K–12 educational settings
  • Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs for DHH students
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with assistive listening devices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with educational teams and families
  • Ability to adapt teaching modalities to both virtual and onsite environments
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative DHH services to students across five schools
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to design accessible instruction
  • Develop, update, and monitor IEP goals in alignment with student needs
  • Assess student progress and recommend appropriate accommodations and support strategies
  • Serve as an advocate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within campus communities
  • Offer training and resources to staff, families, and peers as needed
  • Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week) spanning the academic year (August 13, 2026–May 26, 2027).
