Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a diverse educational setting. This position, which runs from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offers the chance to work with a varied caseload spanning Pre-K through grade 13 in 25 different buildings near Gary, IN. You’ll be responsible for providing vital educational services and advocating for student success in a collaborative environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Previous experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple grade levels
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and case management
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and its application in educational settings
  • Commitment to progress monitoring and individualized instruction

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, consultative, and itinerant services based on each student’s IEP and service needs
  • Manage a caseload of 48 students: 30 identified as Teacher of Record (TOR) and 18 as Teacher of Service (TOS)
  • Provide monthly or quarterly consults, as well as more frequent support for students requiring intensive services
  • Collaborate across 25 school buildings to ensure consistent, high-quality services
  • Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and maintain thorough documentation for each student
  • Support inclusive learning environments and serve as a liaison with school teams, families, and specialized staff
