Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Gastonia, North Carolina

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Prior experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting
• Strong understanding of deaf culture, communication modalities (including ASL), and individualized educational strategies
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support services to four students as indicated in their IEPs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to facilitate meaningful access to the curriculum
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and adaptive technologies to address individual communication and learning needs
• Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments as needed to instructional plans
• Serve as a resource and advocate for students and families within the educational setting
