Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and tailored support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting curriculum and teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate optimal learning environments and seamless integration
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible students, ensuring compliance and measurable progress
- Offer consultative guidance and resources to staff and parents to enhance communication and accessibility across the school community
- Utilize a variety of assistive technologies and accommodations to promote student engagement
- Participate in professional development, school meetings, and interdisciplinary team activities
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- State teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working in educational settings (public schools preferred) with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in sign language (ASL or SEE) and solid understanding of deaf culture and accessibility best practices
- Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and families
