Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain
- Knowledge of and experience with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods for students with hearing impairments
- Understanding of Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Experience providing academic and social support to students with diverse needs preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with each student's individual needs, using appropriate methodologies and assistive technologies
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs in partnership with families, teachers, and related service providers
- Use sign language and other communication modes as appropriate to foster student engagement and understanding
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize learning outcomes
- Serve as a resource for school staff on best practices and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere where all students feel valued
