Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
• Strong knowledge of various communication methods (such as ASL, oral communication, cued speech)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to advocating for accessible, inclusive education

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ needs and tailor instructional strategies to support their academic and personal growth
• Deliver direct and consultative services outlined in students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Promote self-advocacy skills, social-emotional development, and independence
• Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to provide accommodations and modifications
• Maintain clear documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
• Stay current with best practices and participate in relevant professional development opportunities
