Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Great Barrington, Massachusetts

Passionate about supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing? Here’s an exciting contract opportunity working full-time (37.5 hours per week) within a vibrant educational community near Great Barrington, MA. Collaborate with a dedicated team as a district-wide resource serving both elementary and secondary students. This role offers flexibility with the option to work on-site or virtually (VOCO), depending on your preference.

As a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, you’ll have the support of paraeducators while making a positive impact across different age groups and learning environments. Your expertise will directly empower students to achieve their best in academic and social settings.

Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state requirements must be met)
• Experience or strong interest working with both elementary and secondary populations
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education processes
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Technological proficiency for virtual service delivery, if choosing VOCO
• Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across various schools in the district
• Consult with general education teachers, specialists, and paraeducators to ensure optimal student outcomes
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
• Foster an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
• Offer guidance and strategies for effective communication and learning
• Maintain detailed records and participate in IEP meetings
