Teacher of the Deaf in Greenacres, WA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Experience working in educational settings, preferably with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication strategies used in deaf education
• Strong collaboration skills to work with teachers, specialists, and families
• Knowledge of IEPs, individualized instruction, and appropriate accommodations for diverse learners
• Compassionate, flexible, and committed to student growth and success

Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering instructional support tailored to students with hearing challenges, both individually and in group settings
• Participating in IEP meetings, progress reporting, and collaborative planning
• Advocating for student needs and facilitating communication access across school environments
• Consulting with staff and families to provide resources and support for optimal student outcomes
• Incorporating technology, auditory/oral programs, and/or sign language as appropriate
