Teacher of the Deaf in Greenacres, WA

Make an impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a collaborative educational environment near Greenacres, WA. Qualifications:

• Valid state certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility for certification)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or closely related field
• Knowledge of auditory/oral and/or total communication methodologies
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Flexibility to work across various grade levels and learning settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and classroom accessibility
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress monitoring
• Advocate for assistive technology and accommodations to ensure student success
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional well-being
