Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Experience supporting K-12 students with hearing loss in educational settings
  • Familiarity with various communication methods, including ASL and oral/auditory approaches
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to individualize instruction based on students’ needs and IEPs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement specialized instructional plans tailored to each student
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success
  • Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Support students’ language development, literacy, and social-emotional growth
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing team planning
  • Advocate for accessibility and accommodations to facilitate inclusion in the general education environment
