Step into a valuable role working directly with students in need of specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing. This position offers the chance to positively impact students’ educational journeys, focusing on individualized support and IEP implementation. The assignment is part-time for the school year, beginning in August and concluding in May, allowing for a balanced schedule that still provides meaningful engagement with K-12 learners.

Ideal candidates bring experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students and hold current DHH Educator certification. You’ll play an essential role in empowering students to reach their academic and personal goals through consistent, dedicated instruction and support.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Educator is required
  • Prior experience working with deaf/hard-of-hearing students, ideally across K-12
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the ability to provide targeted instruction
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with students, teachers, and support staff
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 instruction and support to K-12 students per their IEP goals
  • Work onsite 1-1.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday
  • Develop individualized teaching strategies to meet each student’s specific needs
  • Collaborate with educational teams and families to track progress and adjust plans as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings and complete required documentation
