Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a diverse range of grade levels, from Pre-K to 13. You’ll serve a dynamic caseload of 48 students, distributed across 25 buildings, working closely with both Teachers of Record (30 students) and Teachers of Service (18 students). This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in individualized education planning, assistive technology, and case management while making a direct impact through both consultative and direct service models.
Your schedule will include a variety of service frequencies:
- 21 students receive support monthly (20-30 minutes)
- 16 students are seen quarterly
- 4 students are supported twice a month (30 minutes each session)
- 2 receive three sessions per month (10-30 minutes each)
- 1 student receives in-depth support three times a week
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience with IEP development, progress monitoring, and case management
- Familiarity with assistive technology for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Ability to support a broad range of student ages and needs, providing consult and direct service
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with families, students, and educational teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Deliver instruction and support according to service frequency guidelines
- Consult regularly with staff and families to facilitate student success
- Recommend and support appropriate assistive technologies
- Maintain thorough records and data on student progress
