Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or Special Education (or eligibility for certification)

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or cued speech is highly desirable
  • Experience working in educational settings with children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and positive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Use evidence-based instructional strategies customized for students with varying communication needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to promote academic success
  • Advocate for students’ access to resources, accommodations, and assistive technologies as needed
  • Monitor progress, assess student growth, and maintain proactive communication with families
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as a valued contributor
