Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or similar credential required
• Demonstrated experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
• A passion for fostering inclusive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students
• Adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students
• Utilize appropriate communication methods, including ASL and assistive technology
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support mainstreamed students
• Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with district standards
• Advocate for students’ academic, social, and emotional needs within the school community
