Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Hayward, CA

Essential Qualifications:

• Valid California certification/license as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Previous experience in California schools strongly preferred
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage a dynamic, multi-site caseload
• Strong communication skills, collaborating effectively with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to in-person, onsite instruction (not open to virtual/VOCO candidates)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, individualized educational services to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students across multiple schools
• Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs within the DHH population
• Consult with general education teachers, related service providers, and district staff to support student inclusion
• Assess student progress, collect data, and maintain accurate documentation per district and state guidelines
• Facilitate collaboration and ongoing communication between families and the educational team
• Provide direct and indirect support, advocacy, and resources for students’ academic and social-emotional success
