Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Henrico, Virginia

Make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments. This contract position focuses on supporting the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a school-based setting, ensuring every child has access to an equitable and engaging education.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching license with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
• Experience supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss
• Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), Cued Speech, or similar modality
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and students
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver accessible curriculum tailored to each student’s needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusive classroom environments
• Provide direct instruction in both one-on-one and group settings
• Develop and implement IEP goals specifically for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Advocate for necessary classroom accommodations and assistive technology
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings and IEP conferences
