Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid state licensure or eligibility for Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in educational settings
• Familiarity with sign language (ASL), communication modes, and assistive technology
• Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, parents, and students
• Commitment to professional development and adapting best teaching practices

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting curriculum as needed
• Assess students’ abilities and track progress toward academic and communication goals
• Support classroom teachers with accommodations, modifications, and inclusion strategies
• Consult with families and team members, advocating for student needs
• Maintain accurate records and ongoing documentation for student files
