Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification or eligibility as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience or training in early childhood education, especially with children birth-5 years preferred
  • Strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication, organization, and advocacy abilities
  • Commitment to onsite service delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to young children with hearing loss in an educational setting
  • Foster language, communication, and developmental skills through individualized instruction and strategies
  • Adapt classroom materials and instructional techniques to meet diverse hearing needs
  • Participate in assessments, data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP meetings
  • Counsel families and staff on effective communication methods, technology, and resources
  • Stay current with best practices in deaf/hard of hearing education and early intervention
  • Collaborate closely with school staff and external specialists
