Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Experience in working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with current assistive technologies and best practices for DHH instruction
- Willingness to travel between multiple schools within the district
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting methods and materials to meet diverse needs
- Assess student progress and participate in developing, updating, and implementing IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure a supportive and accessible learning environment
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, families, and school personnel on topics related to hearing loss and accommodations
- Integrate technology and visual communication strategies to promote student engagement and independence
- Travel between assigned campuses to deliver services and facilitate inclusion across the district
