An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in Hilton Head Island, SC. This role is ideal for educators passionate about providing tailored instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a school setting. The position is offered on a contract basis, allowing for focused seasonal engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Utilize specialized teaching strategies and resources to support language development and academic achievement.
• Collaborate with audiologists, speech therapists, and other professionals to create comprehensive support systems.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet educational goals.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student development and needs.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of sign language, auditory-verbal therapy techniques, or alternative communication methods.
