Key Qualifications:

• Valid state licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
• Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in PreK-12 settings preferred
• Strong understanding of assistive hearing technology and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Create and implement individualized instructional plans to meet student needs and IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and staff to integrate accessible strategies and modifications
• Provide direct instruction tailored to a range of students, utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods as appropriate
• Act as an advocate and resource for students and families, helping them navigate educational challenges
• Monitor academic progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
• Deliver training and support for staff in best practices for working with deaf and hard of hearing students
