Support students in their educational journey as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing within a school setting near Hixson, TN. This role is designed for passionate professionals who are committed to fostering access, inclusion, and positive outcomes for students with hearing differences. As part of a collaborative and supportive educational environment, you will provide specialized instruction while working alongside educators, families, and support staff to meet each student’s unique needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state-specific or eligible for reciprocity)
  • Proven experience in instructional strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, including language development and assistive technology
  • Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Compassion, adaptability, and enthusiasm for promoting student success

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support aligned with students’ IEPs
  • Assess student progress, adapting approaches to facilitate learning and growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and service providers
  • Consult with families regarding progress, strategies, and accommodations
  • Advocate for an inclusive and accessible learning environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
