DHH Teacher | Hooksett, New Hampshire

This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instructional services and advocate for students with hearing loss in a collaborative, professional school environment near Hooksett, NH.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans
• Familiarity with NHSEIS and the special education process
• Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary educational teams
• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting assistive hearing technology (hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants)
• Ability to provide training and consultation for staff, families, and students
• Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations for special education

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s IEP or 504 plan
• Utilize evaluation data and progress reports to inform educational proposals and adapt teaching strategies
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and instructional interventions
• Monitor and support modified instruction in classrooms according to IEP guidelines
• Consult regularly with families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and related service providers
• Provide ongoing training to school staff regarding hearing loss, technology, and classroom accommodations
• Manage student hearing devices, including troubleshooting and coordinating repairs or replacements
• Guide students in self-advocacy, equipment management, and requesting necessary accommodations
• Adhere to NH Special Education Procedural Safeguards and school district policies
• Participate in required professional development and fulfill all staff responsibilities within the assigned building
