This full-time, contract position serves K-12 students as an itinerant teacher, traveling between various school sites to ensure each student receives tailored services. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills for both students and families
  • Ability to create and adapt educational materials to a range of learning needs
  • Flexibility in traveling between schools within the district
  • Collaboration skills and willingness to work closely with classroom teachers and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in mainstream and self-contained settings
  • Consult regularly with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student success
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with measurable goals
  • Adapt lesson materials and teaching styles to accommodate various communication modalities and unique student needs
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in team meetings
  • Support students’ language, social, and academic development across diverse educational settings
