Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and advocacy skills for both students and families
- Ability to create and adapt educational materials to a range of learning needs
- Flexibility in traveling between schools within the district
- Collaboration skills and willingness to work closely with classroom teachers and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in mainstream and self-contained settings
- Consult regularly with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with measurable goals
- Adapt lesson materials and teaching styles to accommodate various communication modalities and unique student needs
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in team meetings
- Support students’ language, social, and academic development across diverse educational settings
