Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Huntington, IN

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with children in educational settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Understanding of assistive technologies and their application in the classroom
• Ability to adapt curriculum to individual student needs
• Familiarity with IEP processes and implementation

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and other service providers
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Provide direct instruction and support to students, promoting language and self-advocacy skills
• Participate in team meetings and provide training or consultation to staff as needed
• Assist in creating an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment
