Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with children in educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of assistive technologies and their application in the classroom
- Ability to adapt curriculum to individual student needs
- Familiarity with IEP processes and implementation
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and other service providers
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Provide direct instruction and support to students, promoting language and self-advocacy skills
- Participate in team meetings and provide training or consultation to staff as needed
- Assist in creating an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment
