Teacher of the Deaf in Indianapolis, IN

You'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and service providers to support individualized education goals and expand opportunities for all learners.

Key Qualifications:

• Indiana state teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for reciprocity
• Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and current instructional strategies
• Experience using assistive listening devices and adaptive technology
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Consult with teachers, support staff, and families on best practices and accommodations
• Assess and document student progress and needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and progress reviews
• Facilitate a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement
• Remain current with educational trends and technology in the field
