Qualifications:

  • Valid state teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience working with K-12 students is preferred
  • Knowledge of various communication modalities (ASL, lip reading, auditory-oral)
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing differences
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers to adapt curriculum
  • Assess students’ progress and communicate regularly with families and school staff
  • Advocate for student accessibility and inclusion across educational environments
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise on hearing-related needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and student records
