Work collaboratively with educators, families, and specialists to provide customized instruction and supportive services.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for licensure
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of educational strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology for DHH students
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities
  • Ability to adapt lessons and materials to individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in groups
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
  • Develop and implement IEPs with appropriate goals, accommodations, and modifications
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust strategies as needed
  • Advocate for student needs and promote self-advocacy among students
  • Provide training and consultation to staff on best practices for working with DHH students
