This full-time, onsite contract role will serve students across a range of abilities, providing expertise and support essential to their educational success throughout the 2026-2027 school year (exact dates to follow).

Skills and Experience Desired:

  • Valid and current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents with hearing loss
  • Strong knowledge of both auditory-oral and manual communication methods
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, staff, and families
  • Adaptability to support various learning styles and environments
  • A genuine passion for advocacy and student empowerment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing within school environments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure each student’s needs are addressed in the academic setting
  • Adapt general education curriculum materials and methodologies to suit individual needs
  • Consult and train classroom teachers regarding adaptations and assistive technology
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students to thrive
