Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Knowledge of current best practices in deaf education, accessible instruction, and assistive technology
- Experience delivering individualized instruction and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Passion for advocacy, inclusion, and student-centered learning
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative teaching support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and/or small group settings
- Assess student abilities, track progress, and tailor interventions to support individual goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to modify instructional strategies and accommodations
- Guide students in developing self-advocacy skills and promoting independence
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and professional development opportunities
- Serve as a resource to families and school staff for understanding hearing loss, communication options, and accommodations
