Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
• Valid teaching certification for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility)
• Experience with sign language (ASL and/or other communication modes)
• Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to individual needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and student-centered teaching

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, either one-on-one or in small groups
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students’ specific needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
• Employ innovative teaching strategies, assistive technologies, and visual aids to optimize learning
• Advocate for necessary accommodations and promote awareness within the school community
• Participate in meetings, ongoing assessments, and professional development opportunities
