Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid state teaching licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility)
  • Experience working directly with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong knowledge of audiological devices and assistive technology
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Dedication to promoting an equitable educational experience

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments, adjusting curriculum as needed
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Serve as a resource for school staff, students, and families, supporting language and auditory skill development
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to optimize learning outcomes
  • Facilitate communication and integration within general education settings
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with related service providers
