Qualifications & Experience:
• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school-based setting
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods
• Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, families, and support staff
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent organizational, communication, and advocacy abilities
• Commitment to maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized instruction tailored to students’ individual hearing needs
• Assess and monitor student progress, modifying strategies as needed
• Work closely with general education teachers to promote integration and access
• Support students in developing language, social, and academic skills
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on goal setting and progress reporting
• Serve as a resource for staff and families, advising on technology and classroom accommodations
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices
