This contract position invites compassionate educators to utilize specialized skills and ensure all students have access to quality learning experiences. You will work collaboratively with school teams to provide tailored instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Special Education
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed English preferred
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills
  • Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Team-oriented approach, collaborating with general educators, specialists, and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Offer direct instruction to students who are deaf/hard of hearing in individual or small group settings
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate different learning needs
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to implement accommodations and modifications
  • Monitor progress, evaluate student performance, and maintain accurate records
  • Cultivate a positive, supportive classroom environment that fosters inclusion
  • Engage regularly with families and caregivers to support student growth
