Qualifications:
- Valid and active Washington State teaching license with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proven experience or training working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to develop and adapt educational plans to suit diverse learning needs
- Understanding of assistive technology, communication modalities, and language development for DHH students
- Strong organizational skills and a collaborative approach to working with families and educational staff
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored educational services to students with hearing differences across various grade levels
- Design and implement IEPs, using evidence-based strategies and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to promote inclusive learning
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress to ensure academic and social growth
- Advocate for accessibility and participate in IEP/504 meetings as a DHH expert
- Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed and involved in student progress
