Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification with specialization in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaborative and communication skills with staff, parents, and students
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and relevant instructional technologies
- Experience supporting students from diverse backgrounds and ability levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and adapt instruction to meet the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grade levels
- Assess student progress and make data-informed decisions for individualized programming
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, related services providers, and families
- Advocate for and facilitate accommodations, modifications, and accessible learning environments
- Provide consultative services to staff and support broader school initiatives around inclusivity
- Keep detailed records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
