Teacher of the Deaf in Laramie, WY

Ideal candidates are passionate about inclusive education and skilled at adapting curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student. Strong communication and collaboration with general education staff, families, and related service professionals is key to student success in this role.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with students who have hearing impairments in an educational environment
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology and amplification devices
• Understanding of IEP processes and documentation
• Ability to create accessible, differentiated lesson plans
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility and strong organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure student needs are met
• Incorporate assistive technology and accommodations in the classroom
• Advocate for student inclusion across various settings
• Track student progress and adjust strategies as needed
