Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to acquire)
  • Prior experience in classroom or itinerant settings serving DHH students is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of deaf education methodologies and accommodations
  • Comfort with assistive listening technology and adaptive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Provide direct instruction to students in resource, self-contained, or inclusion settings
  • Consult with general education teachers to support classroom integration
  • Support language, communication, and auditory skill development using evidence-based practices
  • Track and document student progress; participate in eligibility and IEP meetings
  • Engage families and caregivers as partners in the educational process
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success
