Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational or related settings preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modes used by DHH students
- Strong collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Ability to develop and deliver individualized educational plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
- Passion for fostering accessible and engaging learning experiences
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in multiple school environments
- Collaborate with other educators and specialists to modify curriculum and classroom activities for accessibility
- Conduct assessments to determine student needs and adjust instruction accordingly
- Provide support and professional development to classroom teachers and staff regarding best practices for DHH inclusion
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate progress and challenges with families and educational teams
