Make a meaningful impact by guiding elementary students through their educational journey as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. In this part-time contract opportunity, you will work with a caseload of 14-15 students, supporting their unique communication and academic needs from August to December 2026. Early dismissals on Mondays and Wednesdays provide a flexible schedule to help balance your commitments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong understanding of sign language modalities and other communication strategies
  • Ability to assess student needs and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with general education teachers, specialists, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and individualized support for a caseload of 14-15 elementary school students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals
  • Utilize a range of communication techniques, including American Sign Language if appropriate
  • Track student progress and adjust instruction based on data-driven insights
  • Partner with school staff, families, and other professionals to facilitate student success
  • Advocate for student needs and promote a positive learning atmosphere
