Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH), or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of language development, communication modalities (ASL, Listening and Spoken Language, Total Communication), and accessible instructional strategies.
• Effective communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students.
• Ability to assess student needs, adapt curriculum, and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support for students from diverse backgrounds with varying degrees of hearing loss.
• Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and maintain comprehensive records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students have meaningful access to the curriculum and school environment.
• Adapt instructional materials and classroom environments to meet individual needs.
• Support students’ self-advocacy, communication skills, and social-emotional development.
• Participate in IEP meetings, team consults, and ongoing professional development.
