A part-time opportunity is now available for passionate educators skilled in DHH and TVI services, with the unique flexibility to combine both roles into a rewarding full-time position. This contract role is located near Lillington, NC.

The ideal candidate is dedicated and adaptable—eager to collaborate with educational teams and empower students to succeed inside and outside the classroom.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least one year of recent experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and/or Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Valid teaching certification in DHH and/or TVI
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with sensory impairments
  • Strong communication skills to work closely with other educators, therapists, families, and students
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet a wide range of individual needs
  • Comfortable using assistive technology and modified materials

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to DHH and/or visually impaired students, helping them access curriculum content
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
  • Assess and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary
  • Advocate for student accommodations and support accessibility throughout the school environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of effective educational plans
