Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Lincolnton, NC

Support young learners as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing through a rewarding part-time contract role. Work closely with four students each week, providing direct educational services and empowering them to reach their full potential. Key Qualifications:

• Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Demonstrated experience supporting children or adolescents with hearing loss in educational settings
• Proficiency with auditory/oral, ASL, or total communication teaching methodologies
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a multidisciplinary educational team
• Ability to create individualized learning plans tailored to varying student needs
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support for four students, adapting lessons and activities for maximum engagement
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and progress-monitoring tools
• Coordinate and collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to ensure optimal learning environments
• Offer consultation and advocacy to students, parents, and teachers regarding accessibility and classroom accommodations
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of student growth and services rendered
