Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a full-time or part-time itinerant Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment. Travel across Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties, providing essential educational support and advocacy for students with hearing impairments. In this contract position, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping students reach their full potential through personalized instruction and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working in educational settings with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to work independently and travel between schools as required
  • Passion for inclusive education and student success

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional services to students with hearing loss in various school settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to customize learning plans
  • Provide consultation on accommodations, assistive technology, and classroom strategies
  • Conduct assessments and track student progress to inform individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Support schools with professional development and resources relating to deaf/hard of hearing education
