Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Deep understanding of strategies for instructing and supporting students with hearing impairments
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication techniques
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and administrators
  • Commitment to creating accessible and engaging lesson plans

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across multiple grade levels
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to suit individual student needs
  • Partner with classroom teachers to support successful inclusion and accessibility
  • Assess student progress and adjust goals within IEPs as needed
  • Serve as an advocate for students, promoting self-advocacy and communication skills
  • Conduct consultations and provide assistance to staff and families regarding hearing loss and educational strategies
