Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school-based setting
• Proficiency with sign language and alternative communication methods
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, staff, and families
• Skills in IEP development and implementation
• Strong organizational and communication abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Tailor lesson plans to meet diverse language and learning needs
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and student confidence
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction to maximize learning outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student goals, including speech and language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals
• Serve as a resource for faculty and families on best practices and tools for supporting deaf or hard of hearing students
• Participate in IEP meetings and help develop appropriate accommodations, modifications, and goals
