DHH Teacher | Lowell, Massachusetts

Qualifications and Experience:

• Massachusetts licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Experience in educational settings with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students (PreK through young adult preferred)
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual auditory and communication needs
• Strong collaboration skills for partnering with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
• Proficiency with assistive technology, FM systems, and sign language (ASL proficiency preferred)
• Commitment to promoting communication access and self-advocacy in both academic and social settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative DHH instructional services per student IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt content and foster accessible classrooms
• Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation
• Support students in developing auditory, communication, social, and self-advocacy skills
• Partner with families and related service providers for student success
• Participate in team meetings, eligibility discussions, and annual reviews
