Qualifications and Experience:
- Massachusetts licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience in educational settings with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students (PreK through young adult preferred)
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual auditory and communication needs
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Proficiency with assistive technology, FM systems, and sign language (ASL proficiency preferred)
- Commitment to promoting communication access and self-advocacy in both academic and social settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative DHH instructional services per student IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt content and foster accessible classrooms
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation
- Support students in developing auditory, communication, social, and self-advocacy skills
- Partner with families and related service providers for student success
- Participate in team meetings, eligibility discussions, and annual reviews
