Make a positive impact by supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across PreK to age 22 as a valued educator for the upcoming school year. This part-time contract opportunity, situated near Lowell, MA, spans the entire 2026-2027 school year and offers a chance to provide specialized instruction in a supportive academic environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with assistive technology and alternative communication methods
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students from PreK through age 22
- Develop and implement lessons that address language, communication, and academic growth
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and ongoing assessment of student needs
- Offer guidance and recommendations regarding classroom adaptations, modifications, and use of technology
- Support the development of self-advocacy and social skills for students
Role Details:
- Contracted, W-2 hourly position
- Part-time: 16-18 hours per week
- 2026-2027 academic year
